The new director of the Center for Strategic Communications was a political consultant who supported Medvedchuk

The Ministry of Culture renamed the state institution “Scientific Center for Tourism Development” to “Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security” and appointed political consultant Serhiy Bykov as acting director. This is evidenced by order No. 884. Previously, Bykov publicly supported Viktor Medvedchuk, Putin’s ally in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Culture approved the new name of the institution and changed its functional orientation. Serhii Bykov, who will head the Center, previously held the position of deputy head of the strategic planning and communications department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, where he also managed the department of interaction with the public and media.
“One of the first steps is an audit of the work of the Center for the previous period. The general direction of the Center’s work does not change, it is determined by our strategy: we must eventually form an effective policy of “one voice” so that everyone understands what the government is doing, why something is the government does, so that the government is understandable to the people, to the civil society, that it is open – this is the main goal of the Center’s work, and we will continue the current projects that the Center is implementing now.”, – noted Bykov.
He emphasized that the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security is an important component of the state information policy.
