The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft of a new European-style Customs Code
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft of a new European-style Customs Code. This is one of the important stages on the path of Ukraine’s accession to the EU and the fulfillment of obligations within the framework of membership negotiations. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on May 28.
Svyrydenko noted that the approved code fully complies with the EU Customs Code and provides for the introduction of common customs rules with the European Union.
“These are new approaches to customs procedures, authorizations, guarantees, declarations and exemptions from customs duties. For Ukrainian business, this means clearer and more predictable rules, faster adaptation to the European market, simplification of logistics and new opportunities for trade with EU member states,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko. At the same time, according to her, continuity of processes will be maintained for entrepreneurs and citizens: existing authorizations will remain valid, and the “single window” system will operate in the usual format.
