The Ministry of Energy denied the president’s statement that Ukraine will build up to 1GW of gas-fired power generation by the end of the year (video)

Adviser to the Minister of Energy, Lana Zerkal, explained that Ukraine will not be able to build up to one gigawatt of gas-fired power generation by the end of the year, and President Zelensky’s corresponding statement will affect the state’s image in the future.

Gas generation is not built within six months from the date of application. Finding the turbines, determining the installation location, making the project, connecting, training the teams to operate them takes a year under the best conditions“, wrote Mirror у Facebook.

At the same time, she noted that the conditions in Ukraine are not the best, because the turbines that were brought last year have not yet been started.

Regarding the construction of 4 GW capacity, she noted that “there are not so many equipment manufacturers on the world market and it is not appropriate.”

The Minister of Energy could not help but know that he was giving false information to the President. Our international partners know that this is impossible. Why the minister prepared theses that will affect the image of the state and Zelenskyi already in December is a mystery“, added the Mirror.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said on the sidelines of the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine in Berlin that Ukraine will build up to one gigawatt of gas-fired power generation by the end of the year and another four gigawatts in the coming years.
