The NBU presented new coins in honor of the defenders

To the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine presented a new series of commemorative coins called “Neither a bullet nor a saber”, which have been put into circulation since December 4. About this reported NBU press office.

“We recreated the image of characteristic Cossacks in new commemorative coins, which will become a talisman for every serviceman. They will protect the modern defenders of Ukraine from enemy attacks, so that neither fire, nor water, nor a saber, nor a bullet will hit them. After all, nowadays , when Ukraine again fights for its freedom, Ukrainian warriors, like their glorious Cossack ancestors, demonstrate supernatural bravery and exceptional durability”, – noted the head of the National Bank Andriy Pishnyi.

The obverse of the coins depicts a modern Ukrainian military man holding the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, symbolizing unity and stability. The reverse is decorated with a stylized image of a characteristic Cossack on a mirror background, which protects a bird – a symbol of will, which visually resembles a trident. The composition also depicts broken enemy sabers on a matte background, which emphasizes the indomitable spirit and desire for freedom of the Ukrainian people.

The series includes two coins: one of nickel silver with a denomination of 5 UAH with a circulation of up to 125 thousand pieces, and another of silver with a denomination of 10 UAH with a weight of 31.1 g of pure metal and a circulation of 10 thousand pieces. It will be possible to purchase them in the online store of numismatic products of the National Bank and in distributor banks starting from December 19.
