Donald Trump proposes an exchange of rare earth metals from Ukraine for military aid from the United States. In the Office of the President of Ukraine noted, that this is one of the points of the victory plan.
“This was a point of the victory plan. We have special resources, including rare earth resources, uranium, lithium, titanium, and it is important that it does not go to Russia. That is why the president proposed that it be specially protected and specially used with key partners.” – noted in the OPU.
They also added that Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed this very issue at a meeting with Donald Trump back in the fall. In order to prevent rare earth metals from falling under the control of the Russian Federation, the President of Ukraine put forward a proposal to introduce special protection of these resources and provide access to them only to key partners.
It will be recalled that earlier the President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that Ukraine possesses valuable rare earth metals, and expressed interest in receiving them in exchange for assistance from the United States.
