The Prosecutor General’s Office offers entrepreneurs to expose cases of pressure on business
The department promises to do everything to keep it confidential so that no one finds out that the entrepreneur has become a whistleblower.
The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine called on entrepreneurs to actively expose the illegal actions of officials and law enforcement officers who put pressure on business. About this informs “Ukrinform”.
The initiative was announced by the head of the Department of Criminal Legal Policy and Investment Protection of the Prosecutor General’s Office Oleksiy Bonyuk. He noted that in most cases of illegal pressure on business, the involvement of domestic officials is revealed. Without the help of businessmen themselves, who are often pressured or accept bribes, it is very difficult to catch criminals. Distrust of the law enforcement system, which has been accumulating for decades, forces entrepreneurs to take such steps.
“However, I am sure that you can trust our unit and the attorney general. Therefore, I urge you: if any official has not even yet shown the intention to pressure you or involve you in illegal actions, but you see that everything is going to this, please contact to us”, – said Boniuk.
He assured that the General Prosecutor’s Office will do everything possible to ensure that the information remains confidential and that no one finds out that the businessman has become a whistleblower.
“Without the active participation of business in exposing unscrupulous officials and preventing them from making illegal decisions, we will not be able to solve this problem”, – he emphasized.
Boniuk also explained that in the initial stages of investigations, it is often clear that the business acted honestly. However, distinguish between the actions of an entrepreneur and the illegal activity of an official.
