The Russian Federation launched a massive strike on Konotop: the authorities reported “arrivals”

On the night of September 11-12, Russian troops launched a missile attack on Konotop, in the Sumy region. Several hits were recorded in the city, as a result of which civilians were injured. About this stated the mayor of Konotop, Artem Semenikhin.

He initially reported that the attack targeted the city’s infrastructure, leaving the city without power. Later, upon arriving at the scene of one of the incidents, Semenikhin clarified that one of the rockets hit a residential building in the city center. According to him, there are victims among the residents.

“We hope that we were able to get absolutely all the residents out of the building now. There are victims, there are wounded, but I really hope that there are no victims.” – said the mayor.

At the same time, Semenikhin emphasized the lack of fire brigades, which makes it difficult to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

“Now we don’t have enough fire brigades. We use, in particular, fire trucks that were given to us by the Poles. We use fire trucks from other cities.” – said the mayor of Konotop.

In addition, the mayor announced that backup power sources are being actively launched in the city to ensure water supply and extinguish fires.

At 01:05, the mayor published a new video in which he announced that information about evacuation assembly points will be available soon. Now the question of who needs to be evacuated and from where is being resolved, and temporary housing is being organized for those who have lost their homes. It is known that 13 people were injured, one person is in a coma.
