The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection has begun to monitor job advertisements.

On May 8, 2025, the State Production and Consumer Service will start a new line of activity — control over the content of job announcements. About this informs press service of the department.
The relevant powers are provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding Delimitation of Powers of Central Executive Authorities in the Fields of Industrial Safety, Labor Protection, Handling of Industrially Explosive Materials, State Mining Supervision, State Supervision and Control of Compliance with Labor and Public Employment Legislation”, which gives the State Production and Consumer Service the right to supervise compliance with the requirements of legislation on employment advertising.
Monitoring will cover all advertisements published by employers or recruitment agencies. Special attention will be paid to:
- detecting discriminatory wording, such as by age (“under 35”, “young team”), gender (“only for women/men”), health status, race or ethnic origin;
- detecting signs of manipulation, including exaggerated promises about salary without clarifying the terms, hiding important information (for example, about night shifts or a probationary period), as well as using vague or misleading phrases.
“Employers should review their ads now and bring them in line with the requirements of the law. This will not only avoid fines, but also help maintain the trust of candidates. If you notice discriminatory or misleading vacancies, record the violations and contact the territorial offices of the State Production and Consumer Service. The labor market must have transparent and equal rules for everyone.” — explained deputy head of the State Production and Consumer Service Andriy Kreitor.
Control over job advertisements is considered not only as compliance with legislation, but primarily as protection of every citizen’s right to equal employment opportunities. This approach meets European standards based on the principles of non-discrimination, transparency and fair competition in the labor market.
