NATO said that the promise of 40 billion euros in aid to Ukraine for 2025 will be fulfilled

NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmyla Shekerynska reported that the Alliance is moving towards the implementation of Ukraine’s defense financing plan for 2025. This statement was done during the meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council in Brussels.

At the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna, they discussed the situation at the front, NATO’s support for Ukraine and Kyiv’s progress in implementing reforms.

Shekerynska, who chaired the meeting, emphasized efforts to bring Ukraine closer to NATO, in particular through the Alliance Security and Training Assistance Center (NSATU) and the JATEC training center. She also emphasized that NATO member states are getting closer to fulfilling the commitments made at the Washington Summit to provide Ukraine with 40 billion euros in security aid.

We will remind that the NATO leaders at the summit in Washington agreed on a package of assistance to Ukraine for 2025 in the amount of 40 billion euros. It is expected that at the summit in The Hague in 2025, the heads of state and government will review the contributions of the Alliance members and, if necessary, adjust the amount of aid to Ukraine at future summits.

The strengthening of NATO’s role in the provision of security assistance is connected with fears that after the return of Donald Trump to power in the USA, he may stop supporting Ukraine.
