The US and Ukraine define the long-term goals of the Kursk operation

The US Ministry of Defense highly appreciated the creative approach of the Ukrainian military in conducting combat operations in the Kursk region of Russia. Currently, Washington and Kyiv are actively discussing the long-term goals of this operation. About this stated Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder.
“We continue the dialogue with the Ukrainians to understand what exactly they are trying to achieve. President Zelenskyy stated that one of the goals is to create a buffer zone. Therefore, we are holding these discussions to learn more about their intentions.”, — noted Ryder.
Ryder also emphasized that the United States remains focused on supporting Ukraine, helping it preserve its freedom and sovereignty, and deter future Russian aggression.
Speaking about the Kursk operation, he added: “This operation undoubtedly demonstrates the ingenuity and combat prowess of the Ukrainian military. However, when it comes to long-term goals, that is something we are still discussing with them.”.
In addition, during the briefing, Ryder emphasized that the US policy regarding Ukraine’s use of long-range American weapons remains unchanged.
