The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on voluntary return to service after the SZCH

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law as a whole, which allows servicemen who voluntarily left the military unit for the first time or became deserters, to voluntarily return to service without being prosecuted. About this reported People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

According to him, the Verkhovna Rada generally supported draft law No. 12095 on voluntary return to service for those who voluntarily left military units or deserted for the first time. 253 deputies voted for this decision.

According to the law, during martial law, military personnel who voluntarily left their post for the first time, but voluntarily returned and are ready to continue their service, can renew their contract and status. Payments of cash support, food, material supplies, as well as all social guarantees and benefits are restored to them.

In addition, open criminal proceedings under Articles 407 and 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine against these servicemen are not grounds for refusing to continue their service or the validity of their contract.

It will be recalled that on August 20, the Verkhovna Rada supported the draft law, which provides that military personnel who left a unit or deserted for the first time, but returned independently and received the commander’s permission, can continue their service without punishment.
