President of the United States Donald Trump stated, that if necessary, he is ready to meet with Volodymyr Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
Trump suggested that Putin has no intention of ending the war against Ukraine and is “playing with fire.” According to him, in the coming weeks it will become clear whether the Russian dictator will really “deceive us”.
“And if so, we’re going to react a little differently. But it’s going to take about a week and a half to two weeks. We have Mr. Witkoff who is doing a phenomenal job right now and working very hard with them. It looks like they want to do something. But until the document is signed, I can’t tell you.” – said Trump.
He emphasized that he was “very disappointed” by the intense Russian shelling of Ukrainian territories. According to him, he refrained from introducing sanctions against Russia because he “does not want to spoil” a possible peace agreement.
“Well, I won’t tell you exactly, but the words speak for themselves. We are not happy with this situation.” – added the US president.
It will be recalled that on May 28, Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukraine is open to meetings with representatives of Russia in any format, in particular, it is considering the possibility of negotiations at the level of leaders in the format of a tripartite meeting – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Russian leader Volodymyr Putin and US President Donald Trump.
