Ukraine recorded more than 120 facts of Russian missiles and drones flying near nuclear power plants

The routes of missiles and drones launched by Russia pose a serious threat to Ukraine’s nuclear facilities. By in words According to Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko, more than 120 cases of missiles or drones flying over or near nuclear plants have been recorded.

This statement was made during the minister’s working visit to Vienna, where he held a meeting with the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jorgensen.

Galushchenko talked about the regular attacks of the Russian Federation on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, which have especially intensified recently, as well as about the measures that Ukraine is taking to protect the energy system and ensure its stability.

“In the past three months, the routes of missiles and drones have approached nuclear plants, creating a real danger of strikes on nuclear facilities. More than 120 cases of missiles or drones flying over or near nuclear plants have been recorded. Drones used to be the main threat, but now Russia uses much more expensive missiles. This indicates their readiness to achieve the goal at any cost.”, – he noted

The Minister emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the IAEA and the European Union, in particular for the organization of monitoring missions at Ukrainian nuclear facilities.
