Ukraine will create a Payment Agency to help farmers

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine held a founding meeting devoted to the creation of a Payment Agency to provide assistance to Ukrainian agricultural producers. About this reported press service of the department.
The creation of the Paying Agency is a necessary condition for the use of the funds of the European Union within the framework of the implementation of the common agrarian policy in the process of the European integration of Ukraine. The working group for its creation will include representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian State Farm Support Fund, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the EU project “Institutional and Political Reform of Small-Scale Agriculture in Ukraine (IPRSA)”.
The payment agency will be created on the basis of the Ukrainian State Farm Support Fund. Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Oksana Osmachko emphasized that the Paying Agency should become a single window for receiving support from the European Union.
“Each EU country has such an agency, and it is important that it be created in Ukraine. It is important for us to take those steps that will allow us to integrate into the European financial system when we become a member of the EU. In accordance with the terms of operation of the Payment Agency, all donor and other support programs for farmers from the EU will be distributed only through the agency. Ukraine should be on the list of beneficiaries of the Payment Agency along with other countries.” Osmachko noted.
