With the help of Norway, a mine search dog training center has been established in Ukraine

Norway has financed the creation of a specialized center for the training of mine detection dogs in Ukraine, which will be an important step in the fight against mine danger. About this reported on the official website of the Norwegian government.
The center, located in the city of Romny, was opened thanks to the cooperation of the non-governmental organization “Norsk Folkehjelp” and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (ESNS). This center will train dogs and dog handlers who will work on the detection of mines and explosive objects in war-torn regions of Ukraine.
In December 2024, Norway announced an increase in financial support for the activities of “Norsk Folkehjelp” in Ukraine. For the year 2025, 164 million Norwegian kroner is provided for this. These funds are aimed at ensuring demining, training specialists and supporting humanitarian initiatives related to the safety of the population.
“Mines do not distinguish between military and civilian persons. Demining saves lives and helps protect future generations from injury and death. The work of “Norsk Folkehjelp” is an important contribution to creating a safe future for Ukraine”, – said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Espen Bart Eide.
