President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping assured Russian President Vladimir Putin of China’s readiness to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with the Russian Federation and jointly promote global stability. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
In his congratulatory message on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with Moscow.
“I attach great importance to the development of Sino-Russian relations and am ready to work with President Putin to … constantly expand the comprehensive cooperation between China and Russia … and continue to contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability on the planet.”, – he noted.
Xi also added that China and Russia remain influential global powers and major developing countries, with political trust between them continuing to strengthen and their practical cooperation showing significant achievements.
For his part, Putin said that relations between Russia and China have reached a record high level in the history of bilateral relations. According to the Russian leader, both countries actively cooperate in various fields and interact effectively in the international arena. He also expressed confidence that the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership will continue to strengthen and contribute to security and stability both in Eurasia and in the world.
Western countries have repeatedly identified Russia as the main threat to global stability. In particular, the US State Department calls Russia a “persistent global threat”, and the European Union, including EU High Representative Josep Borrell, considers it an existential threat to Europe.
