A third of Ukrainians believe that criticism of the government should be harsh: KMIS survey

According to survey results According to the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), conducted in mid-May, 31% of Ukrainians believe that criticism of the government should be harsh and uncompromising. At the same time, the majority of respondents (63%) support constructive criticism or believe that it should not be allowed at all during the war.
Among those who trust President Zelensky, the majority (76-77%) are in favor of constructive criticism or its absence. However, among those who do not trust the president, opinions are divided: 59% support constructive criticism, and 39% – harsh.

It is interesting that among those who do not trust Zelensky at all, 62% are in favor of harsh criticism, but even among them a third (34%) believe that criticism should be at least constructive.

The KMIS survey demonstrates the different views of Ukrainians on the issue of criticizing the government during the war, emphasizing the importance of a balance between freedom of speech and the preservation of social unity.
