Donald Trump took the oath of office and officially became the 47th president of the United States

Donald Trump, who won the presidential election in November, officially took office as the 47th President of the United States after the swearing-in ceremony. Former Republican Senator JD Vance was also sworn in and officially became the Vice President of the United States. About this informs The Washington Times.

For Trump, this was the second inauguration: from 2017 to 2021, he was the 45th president. The swearing-in ceremony was held in the Capitol Rotunda because of the cold weather outside. Trump took the oath of office on two Bibles: Lincoln’s Bible and the Bible given to him by his mother.

The Lincoln Bible is the same Bible on which the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, took the oath of office in 1861. It has also been used three more times: twice by President Obama and once by President Trump during his first inauguration. Trump was sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts.

We will remind that the Republican Donald Trump defeated the Democrat Kamala Harris in the elections on November 5, 2024. At the age of 78, he became the oldest president of the United States at the time of taking office.
