During the year, Ukraine exported over 38 million tons of grain

As of June 2, in the 2024/2025 marketing year, Ukraine exported 38.31 million tons of grain crops. This is 8.65 million tons or 22.5% less than in the same period last season. Relevant statistics made public Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

During the 11 months of the current marketing year, 14.8 million tons of wheat (against 17.4 million tons last year), 2.3 million tons of barley (2.4 million tons last year), 10.8 thousand tons of rye (last year — 1.6 thousand tons), as well as 20.5 million tons of corn, which is significantly less compared to last year’s 26.6 million tons.

In April 2025, the volume of transportation through the Ukrainian maritime corridor decreased by 45% compared to April 2024 and amounted to 5.3 million tons. In general, sea ports processed 6 million tons of cargo this month, of which grain accounted for the largest share — 3.1 million tons, according to the data of the Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine. Purchase prices for Ukrainian corn are falling, which is explained by sluggish demand, a drop in world wheat prices and competition from cheap products from the United States.

The export of corn from the USA reached 45.54 million tons, which is 29.2% more than in the same period of the previous year. To reach the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) forecast of 66 million tonnes, at least 1.5 million tonnes will need to be exported each week, but that pace is being hampered by an expected increase in shipments from Argentina and Brazil as early as July.

At the same time, for the new 2025/26 marketing year (from July 1, 2025 to July 1, 2026), the USDA revised its export forecasts from Ukraine towards growth: the volume of wheat exports is forecast at 16.5 million tons (previously 16 million), and corn at 24 million tons (previous forecast — 22 million).
