In Ukraine, they plan to create a structure similar to the American department that was responsible for reducing public expenditures (DOGE). About this reported First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“I plan to launch a DOGE analogue for several projects. It is necessary to urgently reduce expenses and evaluate efficiency. I will be looking for a person to lead this direction.” he noted.
Fedorov clarified that at the moment it is only about the optimization of individual projects, and not about the launch of a large-scale reform.
DOGE is the US Department of Government Efficiency, established on January 20, 2025. The name of the department — DOGE — is an allusion to the Internet meme Doge and the cryptocurrency Dogecoin. The structure was headed by billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk. DOGE’s main tasks were to increase the efficiency of federal budget spending, reduce excessive regulation, and optimize the work of American state institutions.
It will be recalled that on July 17, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, announced that the new government plans to conduct an audit of state expenditures, and in the future, to reduce expenditures from the state budget.
“We have already started work on the optimization of the state apparatus and are taking a course for a full audit of expenses with the aim of reducing them. Ukraine will be ready in all negotiating clusters. We will continue our European integration and continue our movement towards NATO.”, – noted Svyridenko.
