In the first half of 2025, almost 600 MW of new generation was built in Ukraine

During the first half of 2025, an additional 591 MW of new generating capacity was launched in various regions of Ukraine. About this reported Viktor Mykyta, deputy head of the Office of the President.

In particular, 84 MW was obtained from wind power plants, another 101.4 MW from solar power plants, and 84 MW from SPPs installed in the private sector. The development of cogeneration energy remains a separate direction — thanks to this technology, another 320.2 MW was added. Also, 1.2 MW of power from a mini thermal power plant was put into operation.

“This is one of the priority tasks of OVA leaders on the ground. We are working within the framework of the regional energy independence passports, which have become a strategic tool for the effective development of distributed generation, including gas generation, in all regions of Ukraine.”, — noted Viktor Mykyta.

According to him, clear and thought-out solutions contribute to the development of territories and improve living conditions in communities. The implementation of innovative projects makes it impossible for the enemy to completely destroy the new decentralized energy system. This means that the light will remain in homes even under conditions of constant attacks from Russia.

It will be recalled that on July 10 it became known that the construction of more than 700 MW of new wind power plants, supplemented by 200 MW of energy storage systems, is underway in Ukraine.
