“I signed a decree on the appointment of Olga Stefanishyna as the Special Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the development of cooperation with the United States of America. In this status, Olga will work to keep up the momentum in relations with America while all the proper procedures for approval with Washington of her candidacy for the position of Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States continue.”, says the message.

Zelensky thanked Stefanyshyn for “effective activity” in the field of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

“In a few years, we have come closer to the European Union than in the previous decades. Olga also took part in negotiations with the United States about a new format of our economic cooperation and the creation of the Ukrainian-American reconstruction investment fund. We will work with America on this basis in the future, adding a mutually beneficial economic content to our political and diplomatic interaction.” – stressed the president.

We will remind, on July 10, Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed his intention to appoint a new ambassador of Ukraine to the United States instead of Oksana Markarova. Then, among the potential candidates, he named the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov. However, information later appeared in the mass media that Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishyna could be considered for this position.
