In Ukraine, more than half of vacancies are designed for people without higher education

More than half of the vacancies offered by Ukrainian employers today are intended for people without higher education. About this reported Deputy Minister of Education and Science Dmytro Zavhorodniy during the conference “Education of New Ukraine”.
“More than half of all vacancies that companies plan to open are skilled workers, machinery maintenance workers, the simplest professions. That is, they are people without a higher education. The profile of the unemployed in Ukraine, who are registered with the State Employment Service, most of these people are people with a higher education who want a job that matches their qualifications, their education. And most of the vacancies that are reported to the same employment service are exactly vacancies for skilled workers”, – explained Zavhorodny.
According to the results of a labor market survey conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science together with international partners, 26% of current vacancies are for skilled tool workers, another 25% for equipment maintenance workers, 12% for the simplest professions, 7% for trade and services, 6% for managers, and 4% for technical staff.
Zavhorodnyi also noted that employers often pay attention to the discrepancy between the available knowledge of specialists and market requirements, as well as to the lack of workers in certain professions. According to him, the state is working to solve this problem by developing the adult education system.
