It’s time to give Ukraine more Patriot: Markarov
The intensification of the Russian offensive in several directions, in particular in the Kharkiv region, and constant attacks on civilian infrastructure and residential buildings in cities clearly demonstrate the need to strengthen Ukrainian air defense forces. Oksana Markarova, the ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, emphasizes this.
The diplomatic representative of our country called on the American authorities to provide more air defense systems, in particular, Patriot complexes.
“We are grateful to the U.S. for pursuing Patriot systems and funding the purchase of some of them. But we need more. It’s time to literally make bold decisions and give us more defense systems so we can see them immediately where we need them.” – said the ambassador.
Kharkiv Oblast is currently the most vulnerable region in terms of air defense. Oksana Markarova emphasized that at least two new Patriot complexes are needed to protect this region today.
In addition, the ambassador of Ukraine to the United States noted that it would be more effective to train military specialists not abroad, but in Ukraine.
“We would like military training to be held more often in Ukraine. So that we not only train our troops, but also become institutionally stronger, building our army of the future there, which will protect not only Ukraine, but also all of us from Russia,” said the diplomat representative of the country.
