Interpol will help Ukraine search for missing civilians and works of art stolen by Russians

Restoring the ability to use Interpol’s tools to investigate war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide will enable Ukraine to search for civilians missing due to the war and works of art stolen by the Russians. About this reported head of the Department of International Police Cooperation of the National Police of Ukraine Vitaliy Kasap.
“The reinstatement of the resolution (Interpol resolution AG-2010-RES-10) gives us the opportunity to use other tools of Interpol, such as the search for missing civilians under special circumstances, resulting from the commission of war crimes, or to enter into databases works of art that have been stolen by the occupiers.”, – noted Kasap.
According to him, Ukraine will act similarly and object to Russia’s attempts to use this mechanism against the Ukrainian military.
“Therefore, it cannot be said that this decision (resumption of use of Interpol’s tools to investigate war crimes) is a panacea, but this tool opens up much more opportunities for Ukraine than for the aggressor country.” – he noted.
Kasap added that, in general, the resumption of the Resolution “definitely expands the capabilities of Ukraine in the investigation of war crimes and bringing to justice, even if only a limited number of war criminals.”
