Lithuania and Sweden allocate €22 million for demining of Ukrainian territories

The countries of the Mine Action Coalition have decided to purchase EUR 22 million to support the State Special Transport Service (SST) and the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Lithuania allocates 15 million euros, and Sweden – 7 million euros. About this reported press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

During the meeting in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, the participants agreed on the purchase of pickup trucks and trucks, necessary for humanitarian and combat demining. They also discussed the plan for the development of the capabilities of the demining units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine until 2034.

Directors of defense departments and experts from the Coalition member countries were present at the seventh Working Meeting. The main goal of the Coalition, which is led by Lithuania and Iceland, is to develop the capabilities of Ukrainian military units in the field of combat and humanitarian demining.

Earlier it became known that Japan ordered demining equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers, which it plans to hand over to the State Emergency Service (ESS) as part of a long-term partnership.
