Meta plans to introduce virtual reality technologies into the educational process
Meta technology company plans to introduce virtual reality in schools. High school students will be able to virtually travel the world.
About this informs Bloomberg.
This ambitious project will enable high school students (13 years and older) to virtually travel to Ancient Rome or visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York without leaving the classroom.
This is another step for Meta in the direction of virtual and augmented reality, which Mark Zuckerberg’s company is actively promoting. In general, the adoption of this technology has been slow, but Meta hopes that introducing it into school classrooms will help increase its adoption, especially among young people.
“We are moving with tremendous strategic patience. As a general philosophy of our company, we want to try to encourage the use of this technologysaid Nick Clegg, Meta’s president of global affairs.
Meta’s spending this year is expected to rise to between $94 billion and $99 billion, most of which will go toward the technology infrastructure needed for VR tools and artificial intelligence.
