For the first time, “Shakhed” was discovered in Ukraine, equipped with a camera, a direct radio control system from the territory of the Russian Federation and an artificial intelligence module with the function of machine vision. According to him, the development of this type of drone was known earlier, but now its first use has been recorded.
“The radio modem installed in the drone makes it possible to remotely control it at a distance of up to 150 kilometers from the borders of Russia or from the front line. In the case of using aerial repeaters in the airspace of Ukraine, this distance can be even greater.” – explained Beskrestnov.
Ukrainian engineers analyzing the wreckage of the Shahed drones used by Russia in the attacks said that the biggest concern now is the control system of these drones. The latest modifications of the Russian Shaheds are resistant to the action of Ukrainian radio-electronic warfare, as they no longer depend on GPS navigation. Instead, they use artificial intelligence and connect to mobile Internet networks in Ukraine.
Over the past year, several important changes have been made to the design of the drone. In particular, the warhead was modified, the weight of explosives was increased from 50 to 90 kg, and some models received Starlink terminals.
