Electricity tariffs will not increase this heating season: Ministry of Energy

The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko said that the issue of raising tariffs is being discussed with international partners, but the electricity tariffs will remain unchanged this heating season. This is what he is about reported on the air of the telethon.
Herman Galushchenko denied information about a possible increase in electricity tariffs and stated that this issue is not currently on the agenda at all. He also responded to the statements circulated in the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing, about the probability of an increase in the price of electricity to UAH 6/kWh.
“First of all, UAH 6 per kilowatt will definitely not happen. It’s just a throwaway. It is not substantiated by anything. But really, until the end of the heating season, the tariff will not change, because there is a resolution that is valid until May 1,” – said the minister.
Galushchenko emphasized that the possibility of revising tariffs will be considered only in April, but currently there are no projects or calculations regarding this issue. He also emphasized that the National Commission, which carries out state regulation in the spheres of energy and communal services (NKREKP), is not engaged in the preparation of any changes in this direction.
