The government adopted the National Strategy for the Development of Inclusive Education until 2029

In order to introduce quality education and adapt Ukrainian schools to the needs of children with special needs, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the National Strategy for the Development of Inclusive Education for the period until 2029 and the operational plan for its implementation for 2024-2026.
Among the innovations envisaged by the strategy are the creation of conditions and space for inclusive education in schools, teacher training, and work with schoolchildren.
“Implementation of the Action Plan provides for: improving the monitoring system, improving the quality of services of inclusive resource centers, creating an inclusive environment in educational institutions, providing them with resources and improving the competencies of teachers”, – reported in Ministry of Education and Science.
In particular, the text of the strategy refers to the implementation of a unified and effective state system for high-quality inclusive education through:
- individualization of education taking into account the abilities and needs of each child;
- promotion of social integration, tolerance and understanding of diversity among schoolchildren;
- development of the potential of education seekers to achieve maximum results;
- reducing discrimination against people with special needs;
- supporting teachers with resources necessary for effective inclusive education;
- assistance to local self-government bodies in implementing inclusion policies;
- ensuring a flexible transition between institutions of different types and levels of education.
