Ukraine received financial support of more than 5 billion dollars from Canada

Canada has continued to provide significant support to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. Since February 2022, Ukraine has received more than 5 billion dollars from Canada aimed at budget support, which includes both financial and military assistance. About this reported Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko.
According to him, Canada ranks third among the G7 countries in terms of the amount of financial aid provided to Ukraine.
“We are sincerely grateful to the Canadian government for its comprehensive and important support since the first days of the Russian invasion”, the minister noted.
He added that Canada’s support is crucial to strengthening Ukraine’s economy in wartime conditions and contributes to the country’s critical needs.
In particular, during the first year of the full-scale war, Canada allocated about 1.9 billion US dollars to Ukraine. In 2023, Ukraine received more than 1.75 billion dollars, and in 2024 – more than 1.47 billion US dollars. These funds are used to support the stability of the economy, social benefits, and also to restore infrastructure damaged by military actions.
In addition to financial aid, Canada also provides substantial military support to Ukraine. It includes the supply of military equipment, equipment and training of the Ukrainian military. In particular, Canadian instructors participate in the training of Ukrainian servicemen as part of Operation UNIFIER, which is part of a larger mission to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
It is also worth noting that other allies continue to support Ukraine in the fight against the Russian Federation. In particular, the German government is handing Ukraine a new military aid package, which includes the IRIS-T air defense system, which plays an important role in protecting Ukrainian skies from Russian missile attacks.
