The new service of the Kyiv Digital app allows you to find and shelter a homeless animal

A new service has appeared in the “Kyiv Digital” mobile application that allows you to find and shelter a homeless animal. This tool combines data on four-legged friends from all shelters in the capital. About this reported application project manager Yuliya Ustych.

A new section has appeared in the application – “Animal adoption”. Thanks to convenient filters, users can choose an animal by age, sex, and species. When you go to the animal’s card, you can view its photo, find out detailed information, including its location, as well as find the guardian’s contact information.

Those who want to take an animal home can use the “Offer a home” button, after which the guardian will receive a notification about the desire to adopt a dog or cat. The application for adoption takes up to three days to be processed, and upon approval, the user will receive a message with details about meeting the animal. The transfer will take place according to the rules of the shelter where she is currently staying.

The function of saving the profile of the animal and sharing it among other users is also available. At the moment, the application has profiles for more than a hundred animals, including 32 cats and 68 dogs. As Oleksandr Vozniy, director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Adaptation to Climate Change of the KMDA, noted, more than seven thousand animals are currently kept in shelters in the capital.

“This number is constantly increasing, in particular, due to the conduct of military operations. Almost every day, volunteers and soldiers bring animals that can be saved and try to accommodate them in relatively safe Kyiv.”, the official said.

He also emphasized that not only Kyiv residents, but also residents of other regions of Ukraine and foreigners can use the new service.

“We urge people, if possible, not to buy animals, but to protect those who have lost their homes and are in shelters,” Oleksandr Vozny emphasized.
