The Cabinet of Ministers is working on restarting the “New Ukrainian School”: the head of the Ministry of Statistics Fedorov

The government is actively engaged in the renewal of the “New Ukrainian School” (NUS), in particular, the modernization of textbooks, curricula and the introduction of tools based on artificial intelligence (AI) are planned. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology, as well as the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov during the event “FutureTech: New Dimensions of Education” organized by Diia.City United.
“We are working on restarting NUS, we are thinking about how to develop children in the direction of STEM (the acronym STEM – S – science, T – technology, E – engineering, M – mathematics means natural sciences, technology, engineering, mathematics). We are studying how ( to realize this goal, – IF-U) to use artificial intelligence, how to update the meanings and content of the textbooks that children work with”, – Fedorov said.
He emphasized that the planned changes will affect curricula, education standards, teacher training, as well as physical learning environments.
“Both physical and digital textbooks need to be updated for all subjects. The key to this is getting students back to offline learning. Because we have a disaster, kids since the COVID pandemic… and then full-scale war… have been learning online “, – Fedorov said.
He also noted that in recent years, Ukraine has lagged behind European countries in the field of education, and this issue needs immediate resolution.
“AI today can solve the problem of being an individual teacher for each individual child, and its application will help Ukraine overcome the gap that arose due to the long period of online education of schoolchildren.” – said Fedorov.
We will remind, earlier the Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi emphasized that Ukraine should create an educational environment that would form patriotic and highly motivated youth for future self-realization.
