Ukrainian business has received tools to influence the training of specialists

Ukrainian entrepreneurs now have the opportunity to influence the training of the specialists they need through participation in the supervisory boards of Vocational and Technical Education Centers (VET). This will contribute to increasing the efficiency of training centers and help Ukrainians to become more competitive in the labor market. This was announced by Tetyana Berezhna, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
Berezhna noted that there are currently a number of problems in the labor market, including structural unemployment. Many Ukrainians cannot find work because their professional skills do not match the requirements of employers, while businesses constantly complain about the lack of qualified personnel.
One of the solutions to this problem is the retraining of people for in-demand specialties that are relevant for the modern market.
“That is why we offer employers to directly influence the training of the specialists they need in vocational education centers by joining the supervisory boards of the CPTO. Training centers should train those specialists who are needed in the labor market right now.”, the official said.
According to her, representatives of business, employment centers and local authorities will be included in the supervisory board of Vocational Education Centers. Employers will be able to influence educational programs, order the training of specialists in new professions needed in the region.
Entrepreneurs also have the opportunity to order the training of employees for existing or future vacancies at the Central Employment Service of the State Employment Service. They can send already working employees to training to improve their qualifications, but at their own expense.
Today, there are 8 centers of vocational technical education of the State Employment Service in Ukraine in such cities as Odesa, Poltava, Dnipro, Rivne, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv and Sumy. The centers train specialists in 97 labor professions and offer more than 400 areas of professional development. Since the beginning of 2024, 20,000 people have been trained through these centers.
