Business asks the authorities to extend the deadlines for updating criticality and current reservations

European Business Association (EBA) turned to to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a request to extend the current reservation of employees for another two months and to postpone the deadline for updating the critical status of enterprises to April 30.

The appeal is due to cyber attacks that occurred at the end of 2024 and significantly affected the work of state registers. As a result, the reservation system and the mechanism for granting the status of critical enterprises did not function for a long time.

In addition, due to the suspension of the registers, many government bodies belatedly approved sectoral and regional criteria for defining critical enterprises. This caused a significant accumulation of applications for obtaining the corresponding status at the level of ministries and local authorities.

According to EBA forecasts, by February 28, state bodies will not have time to process all applications, which may lead to problems with granting the status of critically important enterprises.

“That is why the business community requests to re-extend the validity of the current reservations for two months and move the criticality update deadline to April 30, so as not to overload the limited capabilities of the current system of providing criticality and contribute to the stable operation of the Ukrainian economy”, – emphasized in the EBA.

The statement also emphasizes the legal conflict in the criteria and procedure for granting critical status. Since applications are submitted in January, and tax reporting for the IV quarter of 2024 is due in the second half of February, this may cause mass rejections.

Business calls for urgent changes to the criteria and procedure for granting criticality, allowing reporting for the last available reporting period, which has already passed the submission deadlines established by the Tax Code.
