Within a week after the launch of the digital permit for weapons in the Diya application, Ukrainians generated more than 200,000 such documents. About this reported Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Almost half of Ukrainians who have registered weapons already use a permit from Diya. And this is the result of just the first week,” – he noted.
According to Fedorov, this is only the beginning, and together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, plans are already being developed for the further digitization of services for gun owners. The Minister clarified that there are currently about a million gun owners in Ukraine, half of whom are already registered in the Unified Weapons Register.
Now relevant information about weapons and their permissions is displayed in “Actions”, which allows owners to conveniently access the necessary data on their smartphone. It is known that only in the first hour after the launch of the service, Ukrainians generated more than 19,000 digital permits. The application will also display revoked or expired permissions if this information is entered in the registry.
We will remind that on March 10, “Diya” had the opportunity to obtain a digital permit for weapons, which is generated on the basis of data from the Unified Register of Weapons.
