The Cabinet of Ministers has expanded the categories of persons eligible for supported living and inpatient care services

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted amendments to Resolution No. 888, expanding the list of persons who can receive assisted living and inpatient care services. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Social Policy.

Now the services can be used by internally displaced elderly persons and people with disabilities who have been assigned the IV group of motor activity. Previously, only persons with the V group of motor activity had this right. The changes provide for a simplified procedure for social service providers. They can join the experimental project by submitting only one application without mandatory verification by the National Social Service.

The updates standardize the procedure for submitting applications for participation in the experimental project without evaluation by the National Social Service, establish the procedure for transferring budget funds in the event of the death of a recipient of social services, and also determine the algorithm and terms of state control of compliance with legislative requirements during the provision of social services within the framework of the experiment.

In 2024, the Ministry of Social Policy introduced the “money follows the person” mechanism, which allows internally displaced elderly and people with disabilities to independently choose a service provider and pay them from a special account. This makes it possible to integrate into a new community, build social and economic ties, and make independent decisions about one’s life.

Currently, 141 people receive social services under the new principle. 19 organizations are included in the list of providers, another 45 applied for participation in the project.
