“Texty.org” accuses American politicians of pressure and threats

Ukrainian publication “Texty.org.ua” stated about unprecedented pressure, manipulation, and threats from American politicians and officials after the publication of a study about organizations and individuals in the United States who oppose support for Ukraine.
A study by “Texty.org.ua”, published on June 6, analyzed the arguments of these groups and individuals, comparing them with Russian narratives. The publication emphasizes that it does not call these people enemies of Ukraine, but only states the fact of their position regarding support for Ukraine.
However, after the publication of the study, the director of the Ron Paul Institute, Daniel McAdams, accused “Texty.org.ua” of creating a “hate list” of American citizens and receiving funding from the US government. This information was picked up by conservative publications and activists, which led to a wave of attacks on the “Texty.org.ua” editorial office.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green called the study an “enemies list” and accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi of creating it. Senator Jay D. Vance and member of the US House of Representatives Matt Geitz called on the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to provide information about “Texty.org.ua” and stop US funding of the publication.
The owner of the X social network, Elon Musk, also called for the publication to be included in the list of terrorist organizations.
The editors of “Texty.org.ua” regard this campaign as pressure on freedom of speech and manifestations of chauvinism towards the citizens of Ukraine. They emphasize their right to investigate the flow of false information about Ukraine, regardless of the citizenship of the authors.
