The authorities of Estonia have adopted a law that allows children of Ukrainian refugees who have left the country to be expelled from institutions

The authorities of Estonia have adopted a law that allows the expulsion of children of Ukrainian refugees who have left the country from schools and kindergartens without notifying the relevant educational institutions. This is reported by ERR. The adoption of the law was supported by 70 deputies of the Riigikogu.

Currently, children who leave the country and no longer attend educational and educational institutions can be excluded from school or kindergarten only on the basis of the parents’ application.

The amendment to the law will provide an additional basis for excluding a child from educational institutions and kindergartens without a parent’s application, if the child does not actually live in Estonia, and there is no information about his place of residence in the population register.

Also, from now on, the law will prescribe a complete list of reasons for excluding a child from a kindergarten or educational institution, which was missing until now.
