188 raiding cases were opened in Ukraine in six months: details

According to the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine, during the first five months of 2024, 188 criminal proceedings related to raiding were recorded. This is already 1.3 times more than the indicators of the corresponding period of 2023.

Most often, raider attacks are carried out by forging documents (Article 205-1 of the Criminal Code). Under this article, 138 proceedings were opened, which is 73% of the total number.

Although the number of raiding attacks is increasing, it still has not reached the level seen before the full-scale invasion.

According to analysts, on the eve of the full-scale invasion, an average of 50 new cases were registered every month. At the beginning of this year, 32 new proceedings were opened per month, and already in May their number was 52.

In 2021, 398 criminal proceedings related to raiding were registered. Opendatabot’s analysis shows that at the beginning of 2024, about 32 new proceedings were opened every month. However, already in May their number increased to 52.

According to the Anti-Raiding Office, the number of complaints about raiding is also increasing. In the first five months of this year, 1,255 complaints were received, which is more than half of the total number of complaints for the whole of last year (1,905).

Analysts draw attention to the fact that since the beginning of the year, the court has not received a single new case on countering economic activity and illegal appropriation of the company’s property.
