A grant program has been launched in Ukraine for Ukrainian developers of firefighting drones
The Ukrainian Startup Fund, together with Brave1 and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, is launching a grant program for manufacturers of fire-fighting drones and ground robotic complexes. Under the terms of the program, developers will be able to attract up to 8 million hryvnias per project. The launch of the initiative was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov .
According to him, grants will be provided for the creation of technological solutions capable of effectively extinguishing fires in the most dangerous and hard-to-reach areas. The maximum size of one grant is 8 million hryvnias, while during the year one team can receive up to five grants with a total amount of up to 30 million hryvnias to gradually increase the level of readiness of its technology.
The program focuses on two areas:
- The first is remotely controlled firefighting drones, which must be able to deliver fire extinguishing agents, maintain a flight with a load of up to 45 minutes and carry up to 25 kilograms of payload.
- The second area is ground-based robotic firefighting complexes with a remotely controlled fire barrel, a control radius of 2 kilometers and a payload of 200 kilograms.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs expects that the new grant program will help form a market for fire-fighting drones in Ukraine and change approaches to extinguishing fires, making them faster and safer for rescuers. It was also previously reported that the first seven schools of operators of ground robotic complexes were certified in Ukraine.
