The private company “Ukrainian armored vehicles” plans to open a new factory for the production of artillery ammunition in Ukraine. The director of the company, Vladyslav Belbas, announced this in an interview with the “Military” newspaper.
“We plan to open another factory in the country, which will allow us to significantly increase the volume of supplies”, — said Belbas in an interview with “Military”.
He did not explain what types of ammunition will be produced at the new plant. However, he specified that the company does not plan to produce Soviet-style 152-mm projectiles.
Currently, “Ukrainian armored vehicles” annually produces hundreds of thousands of projectiles, in particular mortar ammunition of caliber from 60 to 120 mm, as well as artillery shells of caliber 122 mm. According to Belbas, the share of Ukrainian components in production has increased significantly — hulls and destroyers are already produced in Ukraine. The only imported components are gunpowder and explosives.
In addition to shells, the company also produces mortars of caliber 60 mm, 82 mm and 120 mm, which are supplied to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Belbas noted that the production capacities are loaded at 100% by the end of 2024, and contracts for 50-70% of production have already been concluded for the next year. At the same time, he noted that these indicators do not fully reflect the real potential of the enterprise.
“Ukrainian armored vehicles” is a private company and one of the leading manufacturers of defense products in Ukraine. In addition to ammunition and mortars, the company also manufactures armored vehicles, and among its products is the chassis for the “Bohdan” wheeled howitzers.
