Arms supplies to Ukraine under PURL mechanism will continue: Rutte
American weapons arriving in Ukraine through the NATO PURL mechanism, including air defense systems and missiles, will continue to be transferred, despite the hostilities in the Middle East. This was announced at the Alliance’s headquarters in Brussels by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
“I can assure you that the critical support from the United States for Ukraine, paid for by allies or through the well-known acronym PURL, continues to flow. And this is crucial, because, along with the intelligence that the United States shares with Ukraine, this is also extremely important.
The production of the US defense industry from their stocks, when it comes, for example, to interceptors for Patriot systems, as well as other important and vital military equipment,” — he emphasized.
According to Rutte, since the beginning of PURL, Ukraine has received approximately 75% of all missiles for Patriot batteries, as well as 90% of the ammunition used in other air defense systems.
