British intelligence has evidence of China’s transfer of lethal weapons to Russia
British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps told a conference in London that British and American military intelligence had obtained evidence that China had already transferred or was preparing to transfer lethal aid to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Great Britain, Grant Shapps, at a conference in London Reuters.
“Stoday I can announce that we have evidence of cooperation between Russia and China in the field of weapons used in Ukraine. We should be concerned about this, because in the early days of this war, China marked itself as a state that refrained from participating in the conflict. Lethal aid is already coming or will come from China to Russia, and from there to Ukraine,” – it is stated in the material.
During his speech, Shapps noted the rapprochement between Russia and China, saying that the volume of trade between the countries has increased by 64%, which, in his opinion, “shows that we are talking about a much closer relationship (between Moscow and Beijing).” The minister also recalled Vladimir Putin’s recent trip to China, which he made shortly after his inauguration for the fifth term.
China denies participation in the war
On May 7, during talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, Chinese leader Xi Jinping rejected claims against China due to close relations with Russia after its invasion of Ukraine. Xi said that China “is neither the creator of this crisis, nor a party to it, nor a participant.”
