Celebrating Easter
Before the celebration of Easter, the issue of fasting is more acute than ever, because the tradition of fasting before Easter is quite popular among Ukrainians. Approximately 27% of citizens abstain from food at least partially, and even those who do not have a relationship with God in their daily lives, do not turn to the Bible and do not go to church, courageously refuse their grandmother’s cutlets and avoid the sausage section in stores to avoid temptation. Therefore, for all those who observe the fast:
3 LEAN BREAKFASTS IN A HURRY
Contrary to popular belief, lean dishes can be very tasty. Here is a list of lean dishes that can be prepared in a hurry. All of these dishes will delight even the most demanding gourmets and help keep you feeling full for a long time.
Lean green smoothie from Cindy Crawford
Ingredients for Cindy Crawford’s favorite green smoothie:
- Almond milk – ½ cup
- Frozen banana – 1/3
- Fresh spinach – 1 cup
- Fresh mint – 10 leaves
- Protein – 1 tsp.
- A bunch of fresh herbs – 2 tsp
- A pinch of natural cocoa
The method of making green smoothies:
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
Pour the mixture into a glass and sprinkle with cocoa.
Toast with guacamole
It takes a maximum of 10 minutes to prepare avocado toast, so it’s worth a try to make this lean breakfast.
Ingredients for lean avocado toast:
- Avocado: 2 pcs.
- Whole grain bread: 300 г
- Tomato: 1 pc.
- Lemon: to taste
- Olive oil: 1 tsp.
- Chili pepper: 10 г
- Garlic: 1/2 clove.
- Onions, onions: 20 г
Steps for making lean avocado toast:
In a preheated frying pan without oil, fry the bread for 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy;
Peel the avocado and cut it into cubes, chop the onion finely, crush the garlic and chop it finely, peel the chili from the seeds and chop it finely (it is better to add less chili at first, and add more later if necessary);
In a blender, mix all of the above ingredients together with oil and lemon juice (to taste). Bring to a homogeneous consistency;
Dice the tomatoes and add them to the finished guacamole, mixing everything together;
Cut the bread into 4 pieces and spread each piece with the prepared guacamole.
Oatmeal with prunes and spices
If you don’t have fruit and nuts on hand, dried fruits and spices will make ordinary oatmeal not only healthy but also extremely tasty. We can use a mixture of dried fruits, and prunes or figs, for example, separately. It all depends on how hearty you’re used to making your lean breakfast.
Ingredients:
- Oatmeal – 1 cup
- Water – 2.5 cups
- Soy or any other vegetable milk – 1/2 cup
- Dressing for a lean breakfast:
- Dried fruit mix – a large handful
- Honey and cane sugar to taste
- Nutmeg, cinnamon – to taste
Preparation of a lean breakfast:
- Pour the cereal together with the washed dried fruit (without pits) with water overnight.
- In the morning, add cinnamon and nutmeg to the mixture and put it on medium heat for 6 minutes, then add milk and cook for another 5 minutes.
- When serving, season each portion of oatmeal with honey or sugar. Optionally, you can pour milk over it.
