Citizens of the Russian Federation began mass insuring housing against strikes by Ukrainian drones
Russian citizens have sharply increased their demand for home insurance against Ukrainian drone strikes. This is reported by the Russian edition Kommersant.
Since the beginning of the year, an increase in the number of such applications has been recorded in such agencies as “Sogaz”, “RESO-Garantia”, “Rosgosstrakh”, “Renaissance Strahovanie”, “Sovkombank Strahovanie” and “Zetta Strahovanie”.
According to the vice president of “ RESO-Guarantee” Igor Ivanov, currently every fourth property insurance policy is concluded taking into account the risk of being hit by a drone. In “ Sovkombank Strahuvaniya” added that the issue of compensation in the event of a drone strike is raised by every third client.
Financial expert Andriy Barkhota estimates the number of requests for such insurance at hundreds of thousands in border regions and tens of thousands in more distant ones. He also emphasized that in 2025, the market for insurance against drone attacks will grow several times and reach 25-40 billion rubles. Compensation for damage caused to housing due to the fall of drones or their debris is already included in most property insurance programs.
