Complete blackout in Chernihiv: energy workers cannot begin restoration due to Russian drones

The city of Chernihiv and half of the Chernihiv region are in a complete blackout, but the power crews cannot begin restoration work due to the activity of Russian drones. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

“Emergency power crews in the Chernihiv region are unable to begin work to restore power supply due to continuous attacks by Russian drones. The Russians are deliberately launching unmanned aerial vehicles that continuously circle over damaged facilities, making it impossible to carry out work safely and deliberately prolonging the humanitarian crisis”, the report says.

The day before, Russian troops attacked civilian energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv region. As a result, the city of Chernihiv and the entire northern part of the region were left without electricity, tens of thousands of families were left without electricity. Repair teams are ready to quickly begin work to restore power supply as soon as possible, but the enemy is deliberately preventing this.

“This is a deliberate act of terrorism. There are no military targets in the area of the affected energy facilities. Russia is purposefully striking at the infrastructure on which the lives of ordinary people depend. Against the background of these barbaric actions, the statements of the Russian leadership that their goals are exclusively military look especially false,” — the department added.
