Emergency workers in Kyiv died from severe exhaustion and frostbite
Emergency crews in Kyiv are working under extremely high pressure due to an acute shortage of personnel and extensive damage to the power system. Locksmiths are forced to work shifts without a break for two or three days, working practically at the limit of their physical capabilities. The critical situation was reported by People’s Deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko.
“Yesterday, two locksmiths simply died from wild overload. Many have frostbite and psychophysical exhaustion. Just remember this,” he noted.
A strict schedule of power outages is being introduced in all regions of Ukraine. The reason was critical damage to generation facilities, as well as transmission and distribution networks after a massive missile and drone strike by Russian troops on the night and morning of January 20. Due to the complex nature of the destruction, emergency consumption restrictions are in effect in many regions, which do not correspond to previously published schedules.
A special schedule of emergency outages has been introduced in the Chernihiv region, as a result of which about 87% of consumers are left without electricity. In the Rivne region, the morning attack caused power outages for more than ten thousand households.
In Kyiv, some districts have been waiting for the restoration of electricity supply for several days in a row. At the same time, the Kyiv Digital application claims that the amount of electricity in the network is sufficient, but emergency work continues continuously.
