Ford is recalling almost 500,000 cars due to leaking brake fluid

Ford Motor has announced a recall of nearly 500,000 cars in the US due to a possible brake fluid leak. This is reports Reuters.

According to the company’s message, damage to the brake system hose can cause fluid leakage, which lengthens the braking distance and increases the risk of accidents. Representatives of Ford Motor noted that there have not yet been any accidents or injuries related to this malfunction.

The recall affects 2015-2018 Ford Edge crossovers and 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX luxury vehicles. According to NHTSA estimates, the defect may affect about 1% of the recalled vehicles.

In addition, Ford is separately recalling more than 213,000 vehicles due to faulty taillights and another 100,900 vehicles due to the risk of airbag deployment, the US Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

As a reminder, on April 17, Ford recalled 24,655 2025 Explorer models due to a possible reset of the powertrain control module (PCM) while driving. Such a malfunction can cause damage to the automatic parking system or even a sudden engine stop.
