Former head of Rubizhna MVA Yurchenko sent to custody in corruption case in electronic warfare procurement
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (SAC) chose preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days for the former head of the Rubizhan City Military Administration Andriy Yurchenko, who is involved in the case of corruption in the field of procurement of electronic warfare equipment.
The court also determined an alternative in the form of bail — 6 million hryvnias. During the investigation of the case, VAKS summoned NABU detectives, who searched and detained Yurchenko. They were questioned about the details of the investigative actions and the behavior of the suspect during the search. Yurchenko’s defense has announced that it plans to appeal the decision.
It will be recalled that on August 5, VAKS chose preventive measures against National Guard colonel Vasyl Myshanskyi, who is suspected of involvement in corruption schemes during the procurement of drones and EWs for his unit. He was taken into custody until September 30, 2025, with the right to post bail in the amount of 2 million hryvnias.
The case is being investigated after the NABU and SAP revealed on August 2 a large-scale cost overrun scheme in state contracts for the supply of UAVs and electronic warfare equipment. Among those involved is the former head of the Luhansk OVA, Serhii Gaidai, who later headed the Mukachevo RDA. On August 3, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed an order on his release.
According to the investigation, People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Oleksiy Kuznetsov from Luhansk Region was also involved in the scheme. As the head of the faction, Davyd Arahamia, reported, his membership in the party was suspended for the period of the investigation.
On August 4, the law enforcement officers announced the suspicion of Serhii Gaidai, Oleksiy Kuznetsov, Andrii Yurchenko, the commander of one of the units of the National Guard, as well as the owner and director of an enterprise specializing in the production of drones.
